Where to See the Amazing Winning House for Light Up Southeast Minnesota

We had so many amazing holiday light displays sent in for Light Up Southeast Minnesota! As the Christmas fanatic in the office, I thoroughly enjoyed looking through all of them. But there can only be one winner, and you'll definitely want to check out this house this week if you can.

The winning home is right here in Rochester and it's absolutely covered in holiday lights and light up... lawn ornaments? Statues? What do you even call those? You know what I'm talking about. Sometimes Santa and Mrs. Claus even make an appearance!

Light Up Southeast Minnesota Winners for 2022

This year's winners are Diane and Randy Batzel! That means they won $500 thanks to Sargent's! I got the chance to talk to Diane yesterday and give her the good news. She said that it takes her husband, Randy, about 40 hours to put up all of the lights. That's crazy but the results are totally worth it.

Randy even dresses up as Santa Claus and sits outside with a bonfire and greets the kids passing by. Diane said he's been doing that for the past 25 years. I love it! And sometimes, Diane says, she'll join him outside as Mrs. Claus.

If you'd like to see their home all decorated and possibly meet Santa and Mrs. Claus you have through Friday evening to check it out. Diane did mention, though, that Randy's work schedule depends on the snow (he does snow removal) so if he's needed at work Santa won't be able to be out to say hello, but you can still stop by to admire his hard work.
