Kyle was a Marine in the early 2000s, but before that, he was a very successful wrestler at Simley High School in Inver Grove Heights. He even won the state championship in his senior year.

One of his closest friends, Seth, told KARE 11 that Kyle was also 'Mr. Popular' and that everyone knew him.

Kyle made some great friends in high school before he decided to join the Marines. Eventually, he was deployed to Iraq. But then, Kyle's life flipped upside down.

Kyle's Injury

To this day, Kyle doesn't know what caused the injury but he's guessing it was shrapnel or a grenade. It hit him in the head and his friends thought he was gone. Seth says that the first news they got was that Kyle had gotten hit and wasn't going to make it, "'so we thought Kyle was dead'".

They ended up removing most of the left lobe of Kyle's brain and amazingly Kyle made it through. And in spite of all of that, he's still an incredibly happy and positive person.

Twenty years later, Kyle is working at Walgreens in Inver Grove Heights. Despite his speech troubles and his right arm not being useful, he's a hard worker.

And while Kyle has been hard at work at Walgreens, his friends have been hard at work at his house.

Kyle's Surprise

Two of his high school friends, Chris and Nate, were the ones who initiated the project. Chris owns Great Northern Builders and with the help of about two dozen contractors, they were able to build Kyle a new garage and a man cave. Complete with a bar and a sweet pool table with the Marine logo on it.

When the day came to surprise Kyle, tons of people were there, they did a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and Kyle got to see his surprise for the first time. All he could say was 'Wow'.

I hope Kyle spends plenty of time enjoying himself in his new man cave, he deserves it!
