Why MSP Was Just Named America’s Least Stressful Airport
For most Minnesotans, travelling for vacation is a great way to unwind. That doesn't mean there aren't complications, but if your travels for either leisure or business take you through MSP, you'll be feeling way less stress than in any other airport.
Here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes, many Minnesotans who regularly fly are already aware of what a gem the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport is. But more and more people are becoming aware that the biggest airport in the state is one of the most well-run facilities not just in the country, but throughout all of North America.
Why MSP Stands Out for Stress-Free Travel
Of course, things going smoothly at MSP isn't a new phenomenon. You might recall a story I first wrote back in September, about how the 2025 Airport Satisfaction Survey from noted consumer research firm J.D. Power once again confirmed that the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) near Bloomington is the Top Airport in the U.S. for Customer Satisfaction.

You also might recall a story I wrote last December about MSP unveiling the largest renovation of Terminal 1 in the airport's history. That project took over two years to complete and is something you'll definitely notice if you're flying out of Minnesota this spring or summer season.
Plus, earlier this week, I wrote about how MSP and the TSA agents who work at the airport kept the busy spring break travel season flowing smoothly for all of the nearly 1.3 million travelers who went through the turnstiles in March, despite the partial government shutdown.
MSP Named Least Stressful Airport in the U.S.
And now comes news that MSP is the least stressful airport in the entire country. That's the word from a survey by ground transportation platform Mozio, which looked at the 20 busiest airports in the U.S. and ranked them according to the following three areas, which the survey said 'often feel like they matter the most' to travellers:
- How frequently flights are delayed
- How much it costs to park for a day
- How long it takes to reach the city center
After they tallied up the scores, no other airport scored lower than MPS, which notched a 1.76 out of 10 in the survey and was noted for 'performing well across all factors that impact a smooth experience,' the survey said.
'MSP has one of the highest on-time departure rates in the study, with more than 8 in 10 flights leaving within 15 minutes of schedule (81.5%). Parking is also on the lower end at $30 per day, and the drive into the city takes just 20 minutes to reach the Minnesota State Capitol,' Mozio noted.

MSP Continues a Streak of Top Rankings
This latest accomplishment isn't the first time Minnesota's MSP has been singled out as one of the best airports around. MSP was again named the best not just in the U.S., but on the entire North American continent according to the ASQ Awards and Recognition survey in 2024. And, MSP was also named the number one U.S. airport in the 2024 Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards.
Then last year, MSP was again singled out as the best airport in the country when it comes to flight disruptions. Or specifically, when it comes to minimizing those flight disruptions. And last September, Delta Air Lines, the biggest carrier at MSP, was named the best on-time airline in the U.S. last summer as well.
