Don't think you have to stay cooped up in the house as the temps drop, your kiddos will absolutely love all the events waiting for you this weekend.

5 Fun Things Happening in Rockford This Weekend

Eerie Autumn Lights - Down at Klehm Arboretum, you can catch Patches and Dimples, the massive pumpkins grown by Theresa Miller!  Plus, stroll through glowing gardens underneath twinkling lights.  One of the cutest family-friendly events in town.

Animal Encounter Meet & Greets - Get up close with reptiles and amphibians during a 45-minute encounter at the Burpee Museum.  You can learn about your favorite animals, their diet, and unique behaviors!

Dinosaurs of the Forgotten Forest - You can step back in time at Nicholas Conservatory & Gardens!  Explore a prehistoric-themed exhibit featuring plants and animals of the Cretaceous Period.  It's open through October 19th! Details here.

Frosty Fridays at Carlson Ice Arena - One of my favorite events to attend!  Even if you don't know how to ice skate, they have walkers to help.  Open to all ages and it's such a fun winter activity to experience with friends.

Northern Illinois Fear Fest - It's back and scarier than ever.  This is Illinois' LARGEST haunted experience!  Three terrifying attractions in one place; the Haunted Barn, Haunted Hayride, and Creepy Carnival.  This is definitely not for the faint of heart.
