How Much The Average Illinoisan Will Spend For Super Bowl Sunday

Whether you care about the game, the commercials, or just show up for the food, one thing is clear: Super Bowl Sunday is a huge deal.  The year, over 121M people are planning to host or attend a party, while 18M other are heading to a bar or restaurant to watch.

All of that adds up to over $20B in spending... that's crazy. Let's break it down.

After hearing how much the average person will spend for game day, I'm definitely staying in, too.

On average, we'll be spending $94.77 each on food (like chicken wings), drinks, outfits, and decorations.  According to NRF, Gen Z viewers will average $191 a person.  I have a feeling majority of that is going to wagers during the game!

Even with all those numbers I just tossed around, data shows that people are actually spending less this year when it comes to food and drinks.  Makes sense, considering everything costs more right now and Super Bowl snacks can quietly destroy your budget if you're not careful.
