If you got in on the Facebook $725 million privacy settlement, more checks should be showing up in your mailbox this week.
Round Two: More Cash Heading to Facebook Privacy Settlement Claimants
While Facebook denied any wrongdoing in the lawsuit, arguing they were sharing user data with third parties without proper permission and then failing to adequately monitor that access, Meta Platforms agreed to pay out a grip of money.
While the lawsuit was settled in 2023, the first round of payments went out in September 2025. Great news, though: a second round of payments is coming, and only users who successfully cashed or deposited their original settlement payment are eligible.

The Leftover Fund Loophole: Why Cashing Your First Check Paid Off
I’m sorry, say what now? If you didn’t already receive a check from that Facebook settlement, you won’t be getting a second. But if you did and cashed it, you might be getting another.
How does that even work? Apparently, it’s additional money from funds left over after some recipients who received a check never cashed the original.
