Feast on a Whole Animal at Illinois’ Oddest Restaurant
Do you know that you can order a whole animal at the Oddest Restaurant in Illinois?
Like, place an order online, and you and your party can eat a whole animal.
I didn't know that was a thing, but apparently, you can do it, and if you're so interested, you can actually do it in Illinois.
That's because Worthly's list of the Oddest Restaurants in Every State says Frontier is Illinois' strangest place.
When this place states that it gives you the whole-animal experience, they mean the WHOLE ANIMAL. From chicken to wild boar to goat to, well, whatever you can find on the menu."
Located at 1072 North Milwaukee in Chicago, Frontier offers "nose-to-tail dining here" and "something people won't soon forget."

I had no idea what would qualify as the oddest restaurant in Illinois; with my thoughts leaning toward decor, I hadn't considered it would be a restaurant where you could eat a whole animal.
To me, it's almost enough to become a vegetarian because it's kind of overwhelming.
Don't get me wrong. I said "almost" because it seems there's more than just WHOLE ANIMAL meals on the menu, like this five-star review, which said they ordered the shrimp and grits and added they "received a very generous portion that included sauteed shrimp, stone ground grits and spicy broth and green onions. Very good."
Another reviewer called Frontier "a neat little restaurant that has a rustic feel," and someone said, "Everything we have tried has been absolutely amazing."
Reading the reviews makes it seem like it's way more than just an "odd" restaurant. Have you been to Frontier in Chicago? What's your review?
