My dad used to travel a lot for work when I was growing up. Sometimes, my mom and I would go with him. We got to visit many interesting places with him. I consider myself lucky to have been able to travel and fly at such a young age.

One thing I remember is having to get dressed up when going on an airplane back in those days. I don't think it was required by the airline but it was just something people did. It was so uncomfortable.

Now when I travel, it's all about being comfortable. I'm wearing sweats and a hoodie along with sandals. For me, it's all about the ease of going through security. Well, you can't catch a good nap while wearing slacks and a button-up shirt.
Like anything else, passengers have taken advantage of the situation with no real rules in place and try to push the limit. They'll show up dressed inappropriately, especially around families. When they try to stop them, that's when major problems happen.
Some of the airlines are tired of having to deal with it so they have announced dress codes to get on their airplanes. Now, it can officially be enforced and customers are not happy. Anything too revealing or offensive will not be allowed.
Passengers can no longer show up looking like they're going to work at a strip club. One of the big new dress codes is no bare feet. That's just gross if you ask me. So, before you travel next time make sure you look up the rules for that airline.
