Everyone has some sort of hobby. Many of my friends enjoy golfing, fishing, hunting, whiskey, or hot rods. For me, it's music. I love going to concerts to see my favorite bands live. I also still collect physical copies of their catalogs.

For a music collector, Rockford is a great place to live. We've got some great stores in our town. Plus, we're near the Wisconsin border to hit places up there. We aren't that far from bigger cities like Chicago and Milwaukee too.
# 1 CD Source (Loves Park)
I've been a customer of CD Source since the beginning and have followed from location to location. I was sad after their fire because I wasn't sure if they would come back but their new place is better than ever. You'll be able to find lots of used vinyl, CDs, stereo equipment, and so much more.
# 2 Culture Shock (Rockford)
This place is pretty much on my side of town, so I'm a frequent visitor. They've got everything you're looking for in a record store and more. Besides used and new releases, they also carry gifts, Rockford-made products, clothing, and more.
# 3 Toad Hall (Rockford)
There are a couple of ways to plan your visit. You can be looking for something specific or it can be an adventure. They've got multiple levels with so much merchandise, it could make your head spin. They've got you covered for new and used music in all formats but there are also books, comics, and more.
# 4 Tin Dog (Beloit)
If you're looking to cross the border into Wisconsin for music shopping, this place is worth a stop. Don't let the size fool you. Their little shop packs a punch. There are plenty of great treasures to check out.
# 5 Robot Fighter Records (Janesville)
I recently visited this place for the very first time. I've never been to any place like it before. It's located inside an army surplus store which adds to its personality. They have a nice selection. I believe this record shop has a good future to look forward to.
