What’s Next For Soldier Field After The Bears Head Out?
It's not if, but when the Chicago Bears will leave Soldier Field, but the question is what will Illinois do with the iconic stadium once the team settles on a new home.
What Will Happen To Soldier Field When The Chicago Bears Leave?
After many years of playing at Soldier Field, the Chicago Bears will finally be leaving the iconic stadium for a state-of-the-art new one. Hopefully, we'll find out the next home very soon. Even after the renovation, the place is still out of date for an NFL football game. The fan experience is not a good one. In fact, it's not an ideal location for any major event.

According to NBC 5 Chicago...
The Chicago Bears have been adamant they’re going to relocate their stadium to Arlington Heights or Indiana, and we’re learning more of what could happen to Soldier Field.
The big question is, what is the future of Soldier Field once their number one tenant leaves? You might think the place will go out of business and get torn down. Not even close. The Chicago Park District will just change focus. The building will be converted into a premier concert venue. The stadium is already housing several shows each summer, and without having to worry about the Bears, they could even have more.

The Chicago Park District is lobbying for $630 million for the project. I believe they should try to save the landmark, but that's a lot of money. Could they actually make the building more fan-friendly for concertgoers? Regardless, there will be plenty of other events to keep Soldier Field going, but it is Illinois and Chicago, so I've got my concerns.
