Roscoe Area Family Searching for Missing 15-Year-Old Teen

The Roscoe Police Department is asking for the public's help in finding Kiella Patterson, a 15-year-old who was last seen on August 11, 2026, after she was dropped off at the YMCA in downtown Rockford.

As a mom of two daughters, I know firsthand that being a teenage girl can be complicated. There are so many emotions, changes, pressures and challenges that come with those years, and these days it's far harder to navigate than when I was a teenage girl.

As parents, it can be incredibly difficult to figure out exactly what our kids are going through, and that's why hearing about a 15-year-old girl who is missing from our community is especially heartbreaking.

Missing Roscoe Teen

Kiella Patterson was last seen at the YMCA in downtown Rockford on August 11, 2026, and is described as 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighing approximately 180 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a black shirt, black shorts, black Crocs and a black backpack. She also had a pair of white basketball shoes with her.

Roscoe Police believe Kiella may currently be in the Rockford, Beloit or Janesville areas, and are asking anyone with information about her whereabouts to contact them  at 815-623-7338 or by email at apodgorny7813@roscoeil.gov.

As a mom, I can't imagine the fear and worry her family must be experiencing right now. When one of my daughters isn't where she's supposed to be, even for a short period of time, my mind immediately goes to scary places. I can only imagine how much more frightening that feeling must be when you don't know where your child is... and you've gone through this kind of worry before.

This is not the first time Kiella has gone missing. A community search was also issued for her in April 2026, and thankfully, she was located safe.

Teenage years can be incredibly difficult, and none of us outside of Kiella's family know exactly what she may be experiencing right now. This is not a time for judgment or speculation. It's a time for compassion and for making sure Kiella's photo and information reach as many people as possible.
