Rockford Police Investigating Deadly Stabbing at Auburn Street Apartment Complex

An investigation is underway by Rockford Police following a fatal stabbing at an apartment complex on the north end.

Early-Morning Fight Leaves One Man Dead

According to a Rockford Police press release, detectives are investigating a fatal stabbing after responding to reports of a fight between two men early Monday morning (11/17) on the 2200 block of Auburn Street.

When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered a 27-year-old man in the apartment entryway suffering from multiple stab wounds.

Victim Dies After Being Transported to Hospital

The stabbing victim was rushed to a local hospital but later died from his injuries, according to the RPD report.

Investigators remained at the scene for several hours, processing evidence and interviewing witnesses. As of the time this article was published, Rockford PD has not released information about potential suspects, and no arrests have been announced as of Monday afternoon (11/17).
