The national competition is 61-years-old and draws more than 350 attendees, with competitors ranging in age from 15 to 85. Events are spread across multiple venues, including Mercyhealth Sportscore Two.
Economic Impact and Regional Reach
Organizers estimate the nine-day event will generate roughly $158,000 in economic impact, fueled by 455 booked hotel room nights and steady visitor traffic around Rockford.

According to GoRockford, this event underscores Rockford's growing reputation as a destination for national competitions, bringing in visitors and showcasing area amenities.
Packed Schedule Across Northern Illinois
The competition includes herding trials, scent work, agility, tracking, obedience, and conformation events.
Activities are being hosted at sites across northern Illinois, including at Deer Run Forest Preserve and Forest City Dog Training Club. The main venue opens on May 6 and runs through May 9, with Best of Breed finals.
Many events are free and open to the public, giving residents a rare chance to see elite Belgian Tervuren dogs compete at the national level. Organizers say the event blends competition with community engagement, offering both spectators and participants a high-quality experience.
