A Growing Fall Tradition Returns to Freeport

It's already that time again in Pretzel City for the annual Fall Mum Sale from VOICES of Stephenson County, planned for September 9-11.

Pick up colorful mums at Freeport's Lincoln Mall (1247 W. Galena Ave) during this three-day sale, located in the first storefront on the right after entering through the mall's main entrance.

Mums will be on sale from Noon to 5 p.m. on September 9, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on September 10, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on September 11.

$13 Mums Support Local Survivors

Executive Director of VOICES Beth Maskell said the decision to expand hours and add a third day to the sale was made after a strong community response from the inaugural event.

The beautiful 8-inch mums are $13 each and available in red, orange, white, yellow, and purple. The flowers are being raised by the same grower who supplied last year's successful sale.

Pre-orders will not be available this year, so make sure to visit the sale early for the best selection of mums.

Mums and Music Kick Off the Sale

The opening day will feature an added attraction when Ukulele Express performs from 2 to 4 p.m. on September 9, with all proceeds from the sale benefitting the VOICES program that assists survivors of domestic and sexual violence.

Every purchase made at the mums sale is a direct way for Stephenson County to help continue services for survivors.
