My family's cabin is located just over 30 minutes from Plover, Wisconsin, so I've visited the city often over the years. I've shopped in Plover, I've eaten and had drinks in Plover, but thankfully, I have never had all my underwear stolen while in Plover.
Please allow me to explain.
Plover Man Arrested For Stealing Woman's Underwear
Typically, I don't like to make fun of people, especially when they're down, facing serious allegations, and have an unfortunate last name, but... this story is too bizarre not to share.
On June 8, 2026, the Stevens Point Police Department arrested a 41-year-old Plover man named John Stalker after he allegedly broke into a woman's home and stole every single pair of underwear she owned.
Not jewelry. Not electronics. Not cash. Just her underwear.
After responding to the victim's residence, investigators reviewed surveillance video from nearby homes to identify John Stalker as a suspect. Upon his arrest, police say they found the victim's missing underwear inside the suspect's backpack.
Here is where the story gets even stranger.
A press release from the Stevens Point Police Department says:
Mr. Stalker was arrested for Burglary and multiple counts of Bail Jumping in open cases, two of which are for the criminal charge of Stalking.
During the search of Mr. Stalker's property, additional women's underwear was located. This underwear was not from the two cases that had been reported.
Look, Wisconsin has given us some legendary headlines over the years, but stealing an entire underwear collection has to rank near the top.
The Stevens Point Police Department is now asking anyone who has experienced a similar theft to contact them at 715-346-1500... you might be able to recover your stolen underwear.
