The Winter Storm Warning is in effect from 10 am Sunday morning through 7 pm Sunday evening for areas north of the Winter Weather Advisory, including Brown, Goodhue, Le Sueur, Nicollet, Rice, and Wabasha Counties -- and areas to the north, including the Twin Cities metro area. Locations in the Winter Storm Warning could see accumulations of 12 to 17 inches with wind gusts as high at 40 mph.

Travel could be very difficult to impossible. High snowfall rates and patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute on Monday. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.
