Most Americans Now Use AI Chatbots Weekly, But Prefer Flawed Humans
In recent years, artificial intelligence has become a more normal part of everyday life. In fact, it's so common that more people use it weekly than not.
But what are people in Iowa and Illinois using it for? To help with work? To cheat at school? To get health advice? Or maybe it's more personal. For some, it's about companionship.
69% of Americans Use AI Chatbots Every Week
For some, it's not just weekly. 40% of Americans are using AI chatbots every day. Add in the 29% that admit to using it weekly, and you get 69%.
But there is hope that the human race can press on. 91% of those surveyed by BeSpokeSurgical.com say they would rather have a flawed human partner than a perfect AI companion. So the dating pool lives!
Looking For Love In All The Bot Places, Looking For Love
While most people are still looking for human love, there are other ways to feel connected and some people are turning to chatbots for that. 20% of Americans actually said they are comfortable using a chatbot for emotional support or companionship.
Would you cheat on your robot? Or, I guess, cheat on your human with a robot? Is that a new thing? But 17% said they would consider using a chatbot to cheat in a relationship. Will a computer represent the chatbot in the divorce proceedings?
Chatbots for Mental...and Physical Health
Chatbots are learning feelings. I think this was the plot of IRobot.
46% would use a chatbot as a therapist and 25% would use one as an actual doctor.
The AI generation is here. Will it continue to benefit mankind and make human lives better and easier? Or will it take away jobs and eventually turn into the Terminator? Maybe we'll find out in our lifetime. Someone, just get John Connor on standby.
