A 13 to 6 run for the Kingsland Knights led to a 39-33 victory over the Fillmore Central Falcons in Girls Basketball last night, in a Three-Rivers Conference showdown on KFIL!

It was a fun game, as both teams played solid defense, forcing their opponents into turnovers to get extra opportunities. The Knights were able to lock down defensively in the second half to earn the win.

Both teams switched up their defenses throughout the game. From full-court pressure, to a tough half-court defense. It really made each team take a second to stop and think, to make the right decision.

Tied at 27, the Falcons took a two-point lead off a layup by Kenzie Broadwater. Then, the Knights were able to knock down a three to take a 30-29 lead. Here started the run for the Knights, as Kellyn Webster knocked down a triple to extend the lead to 35-29.

The Falcons had a chance to cut the lead to two, but just couldn't get the ball to roll their way. They were forced to foul, and the Knights left with the win.

The first half saw some great play from Tayah Barnes, as she knocked down two 3's. In the second half, the Falcons looked for Kendyl Bennett, who led the squad with 15 points. She made some awesome moves in the post to keep the Falcons in the game.

It just wasn't enough. Webster knocked down five 3's by herself, to lead the Knights with 15 points.

It was a tight game in the first half, but Kingsland was able to hit a couple shots late in the first half to enter the break with a 21-18 lead. The Knights used that momentum to lock down defensively and earn the win.
