The #4 seeded Lewiston-Altura Cardinals returned to Plainview to take on #2 La Crescent in the third and final game of the day in which the loser would be eliminated from the Subsection Tournament. The Cardinals battled tough, but the Lancers were able to come away with the 7-2 win.

The Cardinals took a 1-0 lead again in the first when Blake Schilling led off with a double and eventually scored on a wild pitch. The Lancers came right back in the first when Gavin Christianson drove in Issac Peterson on an RBI single to tie the game up.

The Lancers would take control from there, scoring two runs in the third in an inning where the team had no hits. Two men reached on errors, another one was hit by a pitch and another reached on a fielders choice.

The Lancers then held the 3-1 lead and turned it into a 5-1 lead in the fifth when Cade McCool hit a two-RBI single to build the lead up again.

The Cardinals got one back in the sixth on an RBI double from Tyler Kadrie. Then the Lancers struck back in the bottom half of the frame. Peterson and Sam Weiser each hit RBI singles in the sixth to make the lead 7-2, securing the win.

The win will send the Lancers to another elimination game on Monday, where they will take on the loser of Caledonia vs. PEM. Lewiston-Altura's season was ended with two losses on Saturday.

Connor Kennedy took the loss on the mound for L-A, while McCool took the win for the Lancers. McCool also went 2-for-4 with two RBI in the win.
