Lois Riess Booked into Lee County Jail
Ft Myers, FL (KROC AM News) - Suspected Blooming Prairie killer Lois Riess is now sitting in a Florida jail. The 56-year-old former Rochester woman was extradited from Texas and booked into the Lee County jail Saturday evening.
“I know that I speak on behalf of Sheriff Scott when I say that we are relieved to have Lois Riess in our custody,” stated Undersheriff Carmine Marceno. “Her arrest is the result of excellent teamwork between state and federal law enforcement agencies, our media partners and the entire community.”
Riess is suspected of killing her husband in their Blooming Prairie home in March and then driving to Florida where police say she murdered a look-alike woman in the Ft. Myers area. She drove the victim’s car to Texas where she was apprehended in a South Padre Island bar April 19th. Riess is facing murder and other charges in Florida.
Dodge County authorities are waiting for forensic results before filing murder charges in her husband’s killing.
