Man Killed in Fall From Roof of Downtown Rochester Hotel
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A downtown Rochester hotel employee was killed Friday after falling off the building’s roof.
The deadly accident happened around 9:00 AM at the Brentwood Inn and Suites.
The Rochester police report indicates 58-year-0ld Scott Pelnar was changing filters in the air conditioner unit on the roof of the four-story building at the time.
The report says a surveillance video showed Pelnar “had his hands full” when he tripped and fell off the roof, landing on pavement near the front entrance of the building. A witness called 911 and Pelnar was pronounced dead at the scene.
Pelnar was a 1979 graduate of Rochester John Marshall HS and was a former IBM employee.
