He was convicted of 1st-degree criminal sexual conduct by an Olmsted County jury in December.
According to the criminal complaint, a woman reported the sexual assault in November 2019. The woman told police she had been at a party with some friends when she began “joking around” with Voeltz. She told police they later went to his truck and that’s where the assault occurred.
According to the complaint, “Voeltz said that he was drunk but not so drunk so as to not remember what happened” and that the woman “said “no” to having sex with him and so he did not have sex with her.”
After his release from prison, Voeltz will be on parole for 10 years.
