Mazeppa Man ‘Stands His Ground’ and Refuses to be Robbed
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Mazeppa man who was walking to work in Rochester Tuesday apparently made up his mind he wasn’t going to be robbed and literally “pushed back.”
The 40-year-old man had parked near the intersection of 1st St and 13 Ave NW and was walking to St. Marys Hospital around 7:00 AM when two men confronted him.
Both men pushed the man and then one pulled out a gun and demanded the victim’s wallet. The victim told police he decided he was going to “stand my ground” and pushed the man without the gun. He says both men then ran to a nearby car and drove off.
He described the man with the gun as black, about 5-8 and 140 pounds. The other man was described as white or Hispanic and about the same size as the man with the gun. They appeared to be about 20-years-old.
The man was shaken up but not hurt.
