Minnesota Should Be the Next State to Adopt This Kindness Trend
It feels like yesterday, it was Thanksgiving and now Christmas is almost here! Where has the time gone? Many of us have taken to the internet to get our Christmas shopping done this year... which means that we are going to have a lot of boxes showing up at our doorstep. Some of us have to worry about someone taking our packages, but for others, you have nothing to worry about. Folks who work for USPS, FedEx, and UPS are working really hard to get all of your packages delivered on time for Christmas.
One of my friends works as a delivery driver in Kansas. He sent me this picture the other day and I thought this was awesome. Someone left some snacks for all the folks that are delivering all of their gifts this holiday season. This person even left a kind not that you can read above.
I did some more research and found out this trend is happening across the country. Last year, we even talked about how this practice can make a difference in folks lives. Folks are leaving "Baskets of Smiles," on their porch.
Some of the items in the baskets:
- Water
- Gatorade
- Soda
- Chips
- Granola Bars
- Chips
- Gum
- Beef Jerky
- Crackers
- Pre-packaged snacks
- Chocolate bars
The goal is to put a smile on the driver's faces and help them refuel before moving onto the next house. If you are feeling super kind this holiday season, I challenge you to leave a "Basket of Smiles" on your doorstep to help these "Santa's helpers" get all the packages delivered on time.
