Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) -  Small businesses in Rochester that have been financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic may be in for some relief in paying their electric and water bills.

Rochester Public Utilities has received an additional $250,000 in funding from the federal Coronavirus Relief Funds program.

RPU says the funds can be used towards paying customer utility bills incurred between March 1st and the end of the year. The plan also applies to businesses owned by women, minorities, and veterans.

RPU earlier announced a $500,000 relief plan for small business customers that were affected by the pandemic. The program has assisted 363 businesses so far. Applications must be submitted for approval by October 16.

Full program details, applications, and eligibility requirements can be found on the RPU website.
