If you're feeling lucky, there's good news as both Mystic Lake and Little Six casinos in Minnesota have announced when they're re-opening.

Ever since Minnesota Governor Walz announced last week that the Stay-At-Home order was expiring and that most retail establishments could re-open again as long as they have protective, social distancing plans in place, I was wondering when Minnesota's casinos would open again.

And, we now know when two of them are going to open their doors: Both Mystic Lake and Little Six Casinos in Shakopee (about an hour an a half northwest of Rochester) say they plan on re-opening again on Tuesday, May 26th. They closed their doors back on March 18th, when Gov. Walz's executive order also closed bars and restaurants to dine-in service across the state.

In a statement on their website, Mystic Lake President and CEO Angela Heikes says both casinos will be using a 'phased approach' with guidance from state health officials to open up again, with the health and safety of their guests and team members being their most important consideration.

The statement goes on to say that casino operations will look different starting Tuesday, with special attention being paid to social distancing. They've sanitized high-touch areas, and added hand sanitizing stations. Non-invasive thermal scanning has been added to entrances, along with access to on-site health clinics and health screenings for team members.

And-- oh yeah-- if you're heading up to Mystic Lake Tuesday, don't forget your mask: The plan says both team members and guests will need to wear a face mask or other face-covering while inside. And while the casinos will be opening, the dine-in restaurants and self-serve beverage areas will still be closed. You can read more about their re-opening plan HERE.
