I'm definitely looking forward to this summer! I have weddings to go to, trips planned, and I'm also ready to step outside without a jacket on. But of course, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa can be unpredictable. So what does Mother Nature have in store for us this summer?

The National Weather Service has released its predictions for this summer. It covers the entire country but we'll mainly focus on the midwest. We'll look at the temperature predictions and precipitation predictions.

I've complained about this spring plenty but here I am doing it again. I'm tired of wearing my winter jacket! The temperature this time of year is supposed to be in the upper-50s to low-60s. Yes, I'm excited for summer.

First, we'll look at the expected average temperature and if we'll be above average or below average. NOAA is saying that for our neck of the woods there's a decent chance that we'll be above average temperature-wise.

In Minnesota in June the average temperature is in the mid-70s to low-80s, in July it's in the mid-80s, and in August it's in the low-80s to upper-70s. So temperatures that are slightly above that I won't be mad about.

Precipitation on the other hand doesn't look good. NOAA is predicting below-average precipitation in our area over the summer.

Now, these predictions are covering June, July, and August, so we still have to get through May. What does that look like according to NOAA? They're saying that temperatures in May will be... below average... still.

But there's a light at the end of the tunnel! One more month of cold and then we can have some decent weather.
