Not Guilty Plea Entered in 2 Year Old Rochester Murder Case
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Well over two years after the crime occurred, one of the two men charged with the execution-style murder of a Rochester man finally entered a not guilty plea today.
25-year-old Ayub Iman also waived his right to an evidentiary hearing and demanded a jury trial during a remotely held video court hearing Tuesday afternoon. His case has basically been on hold since the arrival of the COVID pandemic last year.
Iman is charged with a single count of second-degree murder for his alleged involvement in the shooting death of 28-year-old Garad Roble along a rural southeast Rochester road on March 5th, 2019. The other man charged in the case, 32-year-old Muhidin Abukar, entered a not guilty plea to the same charge in April of last year and is currently scheduled to stand trial in late November. He was last in court in mid-May.
Iman's trial date has not been scheduled. He remains in the Olmsted County Jail with his bail set at $1 million.
