Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Preparations for the 2017 Olmsted County Free Fair in are in full swing at County Fairgrounds, which means some Rochester commuters will need to find another place to park starting Monday morning.

Rochester Public Transit is notifying its customers the Fairgrounds Park and Ride will be closed all week to make room for the annual fair and fairgoers. RPT has also announced routes 6M and 7N will not be stopping at the fairgrounds Park and Ride lot and route 6D will not operate this week.

The fair officially opens on Monday with 4-H displays and competitions, along with a Dinosaur exhibit in Graham Arena. The food vendors and the Midway rides will open on Tuesday, while the first Grandstand Show will take place Wednesday evening.
