There's so much great food to try around Minnesota thanks to the wide array of cultures here. I want to try them all! But I know it's sadly impossible. But one that we definitely need to try is officially one of the best new restaurants in the entire country.

We've talked about this restaurant before and each time I say I want to go really badly. They opened up less than a year ago, in July of 2021, and they're already known across the country. We're talking yet again about Owamni in Minneapolis.

Their food is centered around Native American foods and the restaurant is run by Native Americans as well. The last time we talked about Owamni it was a semi-finalist for the James Beard Award of Best New Restaurant. Now they're officially a finalist along with 8 other restaurants from around the country.

The head chef is also a finalist for Best Chef in the Midwest, Chef Sean Sherman, as well as two other Minnesota chefs. The other chefs in the running are Jorge Guzmán who is the head chef at Petite León and Yia Vang, the head chef at Union Hmong Kitchen. Both of their restaurants are also in Minneapolis.

Fingers crossed we get a Minnesota winner for both the Best New Restaurant and Best Chef in the Midwest categories. That would be so cool to have two James Beard award winners in the state.

While we're talking about delicious restaurants, you know a restaurant has to be good if it's been featured on the Food Network. Keep scrolling to see all of the Minnesota restaurants that have been featured!

All 37 Minnesota Restaurants that Have Been Featured on the Food Network

Many Minnesota restaurants have been featured on the Food Network over the years. Some have closed now, but I checked out the Food Networks website, the Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives website, and TVFoodMaps.com to find all of the Minnesota restaurants that have been featured on their channel in the past and found these 37 (in no particular order) that are still open.
