Popular Iowa Pickleball Chain Coming to Minnesota
Pickleball has become all the rage lately! I'm hearing about more and more people playing pickleball, including my parents. A company in Iowa has taken notice and plans to expand their pickleball venue into Minnesota.
The place in Iowa is called Smash Park, and right now they're only located in West Des Moines. It looks super fun with the pickleball courts (obviously), good-looking food, beverages (including alcoholic beverages), bags, and plenty of places to sit and hang out with your friends.
West Des Moines' Register says that the two locations Smash Park will open in Minnesota will both be in the Twin Cities area. However, Smash Park hasn't announced the specific towns they'll be opening in.
They also are expanding into Pella, IA, Omaha, Salt Lake City, and Phoenix! That's a lot of work, but based on the pickleball popularity, I'm sure it'll pay off. The Pella location is expected to open this spring, construction for the two Twin Cities locations is expected to start this summer, and they hope to open one of the locations in 2023 and the other in 2024.
Have you tried pickleball? I've never played but I play a little tennis so I'd think I'd be ok. Also, are there places to play pickleball in Rochester? Shoot me a message on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter (@carlyrossonair) and let me know!
