Proposed Housing Project For Rochester Neighborhood
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - After more than 60 years, the main entry into a Rochester neighborhood may have a new look next year.
Titan Development is expected to move ahead with a housing project near the entrance to Country Club Manor.
Titan just received word last week it has been awarded housing tax credits for the $18-million project.
According to information supplied to the city, Titan’s “workforce housing project” calls for a 3 story, wood frame construction building that would include 72 units and below-grade parking.
It would be called Manor Hills and located on the north side of Country Club Road SW, just east of the People of Hope Lutheran Church.
The church owns the property and had solicited proposals from developers.
Titan is also expected to seek tax increment financing of nearly $670,000. The information given to the city indicates “100% of the units will be affordable to persons at or below 60% of the area median income.“ The project needs city approval for rezoning.
Another local developer was also awarded housing tax credits for a Rochester project. Joseph Development is planning a $15.6 million 66 unit apartment complex near Century High School.
