Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) -  The Rochester Police Department is reporting an update to the story about a woman reported missing Wednesday.

Here is the latest update as of 9:30 p.mm Wednesday:

Magen Atkins, the 30-year-old woman reported missing, called Rochester Police Department earlier today, but we still need help locating her to make sure she is safe.

Magen left a voicemail message with an RPD investigator and indicated she was OK. Family members verified the voice in the message was Magen’s. RPD is still trying to find her to confirm that she is safe.

ORIGINAL STORY

30-year-old Magen Atkins was last seen on May 12th. A news release says she was leaving a hotel on Wood Lake Drive Southeast. Later that day, some of her belongings were discovered in Indian Heights Park in Northwest Rochester.

She was wearing dark pants, a white T-shirt, white shoes, and sunglasses when she was spotted leaving the southeast Rochester hotel.

Anyone who has information about her whereabouts, or information that could be useful in finding her, is asked to contact Rochester Police Investigator Ryan Edge at 507-328-6898. If she is actually spotted, you are asked to contact the police department's dispatch center at 911 or call 507-328-6800.

As of April 7, 2021, there are 28 children missing from across Minnesota and have still not been found, according to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
