Rochester Brewery Taking Part in Great American Beer Festival

It's the premier festival for independent craft beer breweries in the U.S. and one Rochester craft brewery is involved this year.
The Great American Beer Festival is, as its website says, 'the country’s preeminent beer festival and competition,' and is usually held in Denver, Colorado. A whole week of festivities for craft brewers from across the country culminates as the GABF hands out its awards for best craft brews in a whole host of different categories. This year's GABF was set for September 24 through the 26th-- until the coronavirus pandemic upended just about everything, that is.
As a result, like many events, the GABF is going virtual this year, streaming many events and activities over the course of two days, October 16th and 17th. However, they're also doing something called the Great American Beer Festival Passport, which gets you special deals on great craft beers all over the country.
And, one Rochester craft brewery is included in the GABF Beer Passport-- Kinney Creek Brewery, located on 7th Street Northwest in Rochester. They join 13 other craft breweries here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes also taking part in the GABF Beer Passport, including some familiar names like Lift Bridge Brewery in Stillwater, and Utepils Brewing in Minneapolis.
In case you want to get one, the Great American Beer Festival Passport costs $20 and features specials at participating breweries now through October 18th. Good luck to all the Minnesota breweries who have entered their beers in the various competitions at the GABF this year, too. Here's hoping you bring home some awards!
And while we're waiting to see if any Minnesota brewers bring home any medals this year, perhaps you'd like to wet your whistle. (Never a bad idea, is it?) Keep scrolling to check out some of the Best Small Town Bars here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes!
