Neighborhood Loved It, But Rochester Pharmacy Closing Anyway On Friday
It used to be one of Rochester, Minnesota's Pizza Huts. Then it was Azteca Mexican restaurant. Now it's a pharmacy...but not for long. On Friday, that one-time restaurant, now neighborhood pharmacy will be closing for good.
The building is the old Pizza Hut across from the old K-Mart. Webber & Judd turned the building into a pharmacy in 2014 and continued to be Rochester's oldest health care business, having first opened in the 1860s. In 2019, HyVee bought the pharmacy and it's been a Hy-Vee HealthMarket pharmacy since.
The announcement is that the business will close Friday at 6 PM. Customers and prescriptions will be transferred to the HyVee Barlow Plaza location.
What'll Go In That Space Next?
No idea what's going in next. The building is almost 50-years-old and is owned by Mini-Center...which records show is headquartered at Rochester's TItan Development, run by Andy Chafoulias.
