Rochester Man Arrested in Significant Drug Bust Involving Heroin
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A significant drug bust involving heroin trafficking in the Rochester area led to the arrests of a Rochester man and a Chatfield woman on Friday.
The Olmsted County Sheriff's Office today reported the arrests of 42-year-old Sean Alexander and 20-year-old Mackenzie Schroeder. They were in a vehicle that was stopped along I-90 near Dover by officers armed with a search warrant that covered the vehicle and its occupants, Alexander's home in Rochester, and another vehicle.
A spokesman says Alexander was caught possessing 24.5 grams of heroin when he was searched while being processed into the Olmsted County Adult Detention. The searches of his home in the 500 block of 3rd Street Southwest and the second vehicle also led to the seizure of another 39 grams of heroin, over 13 ounces of marijuana, about five grams of marijuana wax, along with a variety of items associated with the distribution of the sale of drugs.
Alexander is expected to face first-degree charges for both possession and sale of drugs along with a charge of importing illegal drugs across state lines. The Sheriff’s Office says the charges against Schroeder are expected to include a drug possession count as well as the import of illegal drugs across state lines because she was driving the vehicle when it was pulled over near Dover.
