WATCH: Funniest Blizzard Video Ever Shot 3 Years Ago Today in Rochester
Curt St. Joh, from Quick Country, just put up this story about the epic snowstorm three years ago today here in SE Minnesota. The story has everything, except the funniest video from that storm.
According to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR), the blizzard was intense:
The storm produced 10-14 inches of snow and 50 mph wind gusts, shutting down multiple hundreds of miles of Interstate, US, and state highways, stranding hundreds of motorists, and whipping up snow drifts the size of houses.
You can see just how big the snowdrifts were in this video posted from Kasson:
This was the storm that produced snowdrifts between 8 and 10 FEET high along some rural highways and caused Gov. Walz to declare a State of Emergency for Freeborn and Steele Counties where National Guard troops and equipment had to be activated to rescue many stranded Minnesotans.
Are you remembering now? And this video was the missing piece of that story. It stands with over 95,000 likes and over 77,000 comments. More should be coming because it's in so many Facebook Memories!
Someone commenting on parking and driving attempts at a Rochester apartment complex parking lot. Most of us roared with laughter...and maybe a little bit of relief it wasn't US trying to drive in that lot.
