The City of Rochester canceled its Fourth of July festivities last year because of the COVID-19 pandemic but the fireworks are back this year along with several performers during "4th Fest" Rochester's Independence Day Celebration.

The event is being put on by the City of RochesterRochester Parks & Recreation, and Rochester Civic Music and will feature several events on July 4th that are free to the public. Where Is Rochester's 4th Fest?

 4th Fest takes place in Soldiers Field Park near the Soldiers Field Veterans Memorial. You are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and coolers.

4:30 p.m., 6:15 p.m., 8:00 p.m. - DJ LaidEe P - LaidEe P, Owner of FELINE MU$IK & Ent. LLC, is a Female Entrepreneur and an Entertainment Influencer. As a Rochester native (Granddaughter of John Hardy), she has made it her mission to bring back the musical arts scene to the community, by performing and working alongside other local artists.

5:00 p.m. - Swing Street - Swing Street is a 17-piece jazz band based in southeast Minnesota. The Swing Street song list spans several decades and musical styles.

6:45 p.m. - Salsa del Soul - Salsa del Soul, is a Twin Cities-based, nine-piece orchestra performing various styles of dance music from the Spanish-speaking regions of the Caribbean.

8:20 p.m. - Rochester Poet Laureate, Susan McMillan - Susan McMillan is a lifelong poet who has lived, worked, and volunteered in the Rochester area for more than 40 years.

8:30 p.m. - Transit Authority - Transit Authority has become known throughout the U.S. as the premier tribute band to the iconic group Chicago.

10:00 p.m. – Fireworks

A press release explains, "this activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board Operating Support grant, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund."
