Rochester Public Library Closed Monday
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- The Rochester Public library will be closed Monday.
A news release says the closure is to allow crews to remove a skylight from the building’s main entryway. The outdoor drobox will remain open and holds will be extended for an extra day.
“By having to close off the only public staircases to the 2nd floor and skyway, customers are unable to fully access the library,” says Library Director Karen Lemke, adding, “While we never like to close, we also want to ensure customers can safely enter and leave the building at all times.”
The skylight removal is part of a project to replace the library’s roof. Officials say the project is on pace to finish early next month. The building is scheduled to reopen at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
