Rochester Public Transit Route Changes Now In Effect
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Some big changes affecting users of Rochester Public Transit are now in effect.
The city-operated transportation provider has launched a new schedule for most of its routes, effective Sunday.
RPS says “all customers should be aware that their typical trip times will change and downtown bus stop locations may be different.”
Riders are being reminded to double-check their schedules before heading out to catch their bus. RPT says its highest ridership route, the 560X—which serves the IBM and Fairground Park & Rides—remains unchanged.
RPT is also reminding customers about the changes affecting its downtown transit center near the Mayo Clinic campus.
Three stops located on 2nd Ave SW have been relocated to 2nd St SW. Two new stops are also being created to help accommodate the shift. That will increase the number of stops along 2nd St. between S Broadway and 4 Ave SW to seven.

The downtown changes are being made because of the 2nd Ave road project that will be worked on through the summer. This means several routes will need to use alternative routes in the busy transit center, affecting the timing of schedules. Other routes are being changed in an effort to provide better service and improve on-time performance.
New route schedules are available on RPT’s website at RPTride.com.
