Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man was sentenced this morning for his involvement in a 2019 shooting that left the victim paralyzed from the neck down.

28-year-old Abdirahman Abdullahi was given a 41-month prison sentence for his conviction on a second-degree assault charge. He was also given credit for the 528 days he has already spent in jail following his arrest about a month after the shooting occurred at the Meadow Park Apartments.

Abdullahi recently entered into a plea agreement that resulted in the dismissal of first and second-degree attempted murder charges and a first-degree assault charge. He was accused of participating in an assault on the victim in the hallway of the southeast Rochester apartment complex on August 7, 2019. Another man, 27-year-old Iman Iman, was accused of shooting the victim multiple times, resulting in severe and life-changing injuries.

Iman previously pleaded guilty to a first-degree assault charge in the case and was sentenced to just over 12 years in prison.
