Southwest Minnesota Girl Shot In The Head

Lynd, MN (KROC AM News) - A young girl was shot in the head in southwest Minnesota Monday.

The Lyon County Sheriff's office responded to the shooting Monday afternoon.

Sheriff Eric Wallen says deputies were called to a residence in rural Lynd around 1:30 pm to check a report of an individual who had been “shot in the head.” Wallen says deputies found a 9-year-old girl who was “suffering from an apparent gunshot to the head.”

As of late Monday afternoon, the extent of the girl’s injuries and medical condition were unknown.
