Storm Spotter Training Offered in Rushford
The National Weather Service will be holding SKYWARN severe weather spotter training in Rushford. The training class will be held on Wednesday, April 19, starting at 6:30 p.m. at MiEnergy Cooperative (the former Tri-County Electric). The class will last about two hours. SKYWARN training is intended for storm spotters, or potential storm spotters, but is also open to the public and is free of charge.
Warning Coordination Meteorologist, Todd Shea, from the National Weather Service in LaCrosse, organizes the training and states, "Accurate and timely reports of severe weather by trained individuals, not only helps our office, but can save lives in the local community." Todd adds, "We always need more eyes to the sky."
