Stranger Surprises Rochester Woman And Gives Her An Award (VIDEO)

If a stranger showed up at your house saying you won an award, how would you react?  "I'm going to cry" is how this Rochester woman responded when I told her that she was nominated for the (S)hero award.

My heart warms up when I read about people in our community that are making a positive impact in the lives of others...it could be one person they are reaching out to or an entire group of individuals that just need an extra helping hand or a hug.  The (S)Hero Award was created to celebrate and honor those women who are doing that right here in Southeast Minnesota. Today, we are announcing the latest winner of that award!

When I received the nomination from Meghan Eggers, I immediately knew that Kristy deserved to be honored with this award - because she is helping women transform their lives.  To be honest, I could tell that Kristy was doing more than just what her job title stated.

I asked Meghan to fill out the answers below to help us get to know Kristy a little bit better.

Why is she a (S)hero to you?  Kristy has always done an incredible job with keeping me motivated and helping me believe that I can accomplish my goals, even if they aren't fitness related. I've known Kristy for 10 years but just recently started training with her after the birth of my second child. She helped me feel like myself again, not just physically, but mentally and emotionally.

Occupation:  Owner of Kristy's Fit Body Boutique and also works in Patient Services at Olmsted Medical Center.

Where did she grow up? Rochester

How long has Southeast Minnesota/Rochester been her home? Most of her life!

Favorite place to eat? LaVetta

Favorite quote or saying?  "Don't be the same, be better" (it's on her Facebook page so it must be her favorite!)

Favorite type of music? Probably something she can workout to

Favorite hobby? working out, spending time with family

What is the best piece of advice that she has given? It isn't about looking good, it's about feeling good.

What is the one thing that you want people to know about her? There is so much more than meets the eye with Kristy! She's brilliant, compassionate, empathetic & driven.
