The Caledonia Warriors made the trip to Eyota, to battle the Dover-Eyota Eagles on a rainy Friday night. The Warriors used a couple of forced turnovers to aide them to great field position, and ultimately taking the victory 36-0.

The Eagles had a tough time move the ball, with their backup QB and backup tailback in the place, Noah Fredrich and Marcus Otomo led the offense. Otomo got the ball early and often, but the Warriors did a great job of swarming to the ball. It took more than one Warrior to bring Otomo down, as he ran the ball very hard.

A quick turnover by the Eagles in the first quarter, led to Owen King throwing a touchdown pass to Jordan Berg from 11 yards out. The two connected again on a 12-yard score to put the Warriors up 14-0 all in the first quarter.

Caledonia continued to turn out the offense, getting a big play, and nice catch from King to Andrew Goergen from 27 yards out to make the score 20-0.

In quarter number two, the Eagles had some nice possessions, but shot themselves in the foot with penalties, and ended up fourth and long, and failed on the fourth-down attempt. The Warriors took the ensuing drive and went into the end zone on a touchdown pass from King to Tate Meiners for a 27-0 lead at the half.

Both teams really stepped up defensively in the second half, but on the first possession for Caledonia, the Warriors punched it in with Nick McCabe from 10-yards out to take a 34-0 lead. The next Eagles drive ended in a safety and that finished the scoring at 36-0.

The Eagles moved the ball in small chunks before connecting a couple of passing plays, but they just couldn't find the end zone. The Warriors defense was tough throughout, flying to the ball and making gang tackles.
