Students Returning to Rochester Middle and High Schools
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Middle and High School students in the Rochester school district are set to return to their classrooms on Monday.
The School Board previously made the decision to schedule the shift from distance learning to all in-person learning on April 5th to coincide with the beginning of the fourth quarter of the school year. According to the school district website, the daily schedule for the older students will resume the pre-pandemic 8-period day but the school day will end a bit earlier to provide teachers with 30 minutes each day for planning and preparation.
The school district says 6th and 9th-grade students will also be participating in welcoming activities that would normally take place when they first arrive at their new schools at the start of the new school year.
The Rochester Public Schools made the transition from a hybrid learning model to full in-person learning for PreK through 5th-grade students on March 1st.
