If you're looking to get out of Dodge, Sun Country airlines just announced it's adding four new routes, including one leaving from Minnesota.

If you're a big fan of traveling (like I am) 2022 is shaping up to be a pretty good year. As Covid cases continue to decline, the hotel and hospitality industry is ramping up, both here in Minnesota and across the country. And there was some extra good news, courtesy of Minnesota's home state airline, Sun Country.

Sun Country just announced it was adding four new routes this year, including one leaving from right here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. In a release Tuesday, the Minnesota-based airline said it was adding flights from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) to Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO).

Sun Country said it is also adding flights to Las Vegas via Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) from Green Bay (GRB) and Madison (MSN), Wisconsin; as well as a new nonstop service to Cancun International Airport (CUN) from Harlingen, Texas Valley International Airport (HRL).

The new Minnesota route to Reno-Tahoe is set to begin service on September 1st, 2022 while the Wisconsin-based routes to Vegas are set to start September 9th, 2022 with the Texas route scheduled to begin on June 1st.

My wife and I like to fly on Sun Country, especially because they fly out of Terminal 2 at MSP, which is much less busy and makes it easier to get through security and checked in. And, they often use the smaller terminals at other destinations, as well, making your return trip just as easy.

And, of course, you don't have to drive up Highway-52 to Bloomington to fly Sun Country; earlier this year they debuted their first-ever flights out of our own Rochester International Airport too. Which is great news! Where would YOU like to go?
