Our winter season has been pretty calm so far across most of southeast Minnesota, but that could change late Sunday night into Monday morning.

I don't know about you, but I'd actually like to see a little snow these days. Snow at this time of the year usually seems calming and picturesque, and helps me get into the holiday spirit. And I'd much rather have some snow now than in late March when we're trying to some spring-like weather to take hold.

A wintry mix, though, isn't all that fun. But that's what we could be seeing late Sunday night and into Monday morning.  According to the National Weather Service La Crosse Facebook page, we'll see some mixed precipitation start after 9 p.m .Sunday and continue on into Monday morning.

Snow will spread into the area after 9 PM tonight and then may become a wintry mix of snow, sleet, and freezing drizzle toward sunrise on Monday. Untreated roads and walk ways will likely be slippery tonight and Monday morning, their post said.

The forecast map says we're looking at an inch or less here in the Rochester area, but with the timing, it could be a big, wintry, pain in the butt. Never fear, though, we'll have all the latest updates-- including any delays, late starts or cancellations-- all morning long!
