Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester teenager is the latest to join the local 100 mph club after he was caught driving at 118 mph last Monday night.

And records show he is no stranger to speeding tickets.

A state trooper spotted 19-year-old Austin Riese driving a 2018 Honda Accord south on Highway 52 near the 19th St. bridge around 9:00 pm. His initial speed was listed at 82 mph.

The trooper says Riese increased his speed and was passing other vehicles when “radar showed 118 just before he exited at 2nd St and pulled over.”

The trooper then learned his provisional driver’s license was expired.

Records show Riese was convicted of speeding three times last year, twice for driving in excess of 80 mph. He was also convicted of speeding in 2019 when he was 17-years-old.

Two other motorists have been added to the local 100 mph club.

They were also caught speeding on Highway 52 this past week.

A Hayfield man was clocked at 104 mph while driving in Rochester Monday morning. Given a ticket was 21-year-old Jacob Reynolds

The other driver was a New Jersey man who was clocked at 101 mph while driving in a construction zone on Highway 52 in Oronoco.

Here’s the citation summary from the state trooper who made the stop:
