Do you like to have fun? Are you up for an adventure? Then Preacher might be the guy for you! Preacher is a happy-go-lucky 1-2-year-old husky mix. Preacher is this week's adoptable animal!

Our friend Michaela thinks that Preacher "could be mixed with some sort of shepherd or even collie" as he is "tall and lanky". Like many husky's Preacher is equipped with a goofy and playful personality and really enjoying plenty of fun and action. Michaela adds that if you adopt Preacher "there won't be a dull moment when he is in the house."

Anyone with a husky will also know that at times they can be their own boss as they are a little mischievous and at times can be "strong-willed and a little on the stubborn side."

Preacher would need an experienced owner who is able to teach him boundaries, and it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a fenced-in yard, as husky's love to get out and run! Michaela and the folks at the Mower County Humane Society also told us that Preacher "is a very intelligent dog who needs both his body and his mind exercised. He likes to play hard and does need to learn to curb his enthusiasm sometimes. This should come with time, maturity, and training. He is definitely not a dog for a first-time owner and would not be a good fit for apartment living."

So far Preacher has done okay with females of similar size, but if you are looking to add a dog to your home, it should be an adult-only home, with teens being ok. Younger children might not work with Preacher as he does get excited.

Another note from the Mower County Humane Society folks about Preacher is the home shouldn't contain "smaller animals". If you'd like to adopt Preacher the Mower County Humane Society has fully vetted him and he is adoptable for a $125 adoption fee.

A reminder about the adoption process, adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. An application can be submitted through the Mower County Humane Society website, which you can find a link to here.
